 குருவாயூரப்பனின் த்யானஸ்லோகம் !

         OM NAMO BAGAVATE VASUDEVAYA !

      ஓம் நமோ பகவதே வாசுதேவாய !

"பீதாம்பரம் கரவிராஜித சக்ரசங்ககௌமோதகீ ஸரஸிஜம் கருணாஸமுத்ரம் ராதாஸஹாயம் அதிஸுந்தர மந்தஹாஸம் வாதலயேஸம் ஹ்ருதி பாவயாமி."


மஞ்சள் பட்டாடை அணிந்தவரும், கைகளில் சக்கரம், சங்கு, கௌமௌதகீ எனும் கதை, தாமரைமலர் ஆகியவற்றை தரித்தவரும், கருணைக்கடலாக விளங்குபவரும், ராதையின்உற்ற துணைவரும், மிகவும் அழகிய புன்னகையோடிருப்பவருமாகிய குருவாயூருக்கு தலைவனை எப்போதும் ஹ்ருதயத்தில்  த்யானிக்கிறேன்.

1. The one who is clad in yellow silk dress 2. The one who holds Shankam, Chakram, Gadha (Gowmowdhakee), Lotus flower in his 4 hands.,3.The one who is an ocean of compassion , 4.the one who is the heartthrob of Radha, 5. The one has a beautiful smiling face – the Lord of Guruvayoor. I meditate upon that Lord in my heart.

நாராயண பட்டத்திரி ஆராதித்த தெய்வமான க்ருஷ்ணபகவான் கோவில் கொண்டுள்ள இடமே குருவாயூர்புரம் என்றும், ப்ரதேசமொழியான மலையாளத்தில் குருவாயூர் என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. தேவகுரு ப்ருஹஸ்பதியும் வாயுபகவானும் பரசுராமரின் முன்னிலையில் இக்கோவிலின் மூர்த்தியை ப்ரதிஷ்டை செய்தனர்.பகவான் பரமேஸ்வரனாகிய சிவன் அவர்களுக்கு அருள்புரிந்துஇன்று முதல் இவ்விடம் குருவாயூர்புரம் எனும் பெயருடன் விளங்கும் என்று கூறினார்.

The place which Narayana Bhatathri worshiped Lord Krishna is called as Guruvayoorpuram and in short as Guruvayoor in Malayalam. Devaguru Brihaspathi and Vaayu jointly installed the Lord Krishnan in the presence of Parasurama. Lord Shiva also blessed the auspex and the place and was referred as Guruvayurpuram from then on.

மேற்குப்பகுதியின் கடற்கரையில்  இருக்கும் இந்த இடம் முன் காலத்தில் பரந்து விரிந்த நீர் நிலையாக ருத்ரதீர்த்தம் எனும் பெயருடன் விளங்கியது. சிவன் இங்கே தவம் செய்துகொண்டிருந்தார். ப்ரசேதகணங்கள் தவம் செய்ய ஏற்ற இடத்தை தேடி ருத்ரதீர்த்த்தை அடைந்து  பகவான் சிவனிடமிருந்து ருத்ரகீதை எனும் மந்திரத்தை உபதேசமாகப்பெற்று நாராயணனை குறித்து தவத்தில் ஈடுபட்டனர். இக்கோவில் இவ்விடத்தில் ஸ்தாபிக்கப்பட்ட பின் சிவன் தனது இருப்பிடத்தை விட்டு அருகே உள்ள மம்மியூர் எனும் இடத்திற்கு சென்றார்.

On the west side, we get to see the sea at a distance. Earlier, there was a beautiful lake near the sea. This was referred as Rudra Theertham. Shiva did thapas in this theertham, submerged in water. Prachetas – the 10 sons of the King Prajinabarhis , wanted to become king of kings and came to this place to worship Vishnu. Having understood the intension of the ten, Shiva gave them Rudra Geetha and asked them to chant and do tapas. After the temple was installed in Guruvayur, Shiva moved to the nearby place Mammiyur.

இன்றும் குருவாயூர் க்ருஷ்ணனின் வழிபாடு அல்லது உபாஸனம் மம்மியூரில் உள்ள சிவபெருமானை தரிசித்த பின்னரே முழுமையாக ஆகிறது.
அவ்வாறு மம்மியூர் செல்ல இயலாதவர்கள் குருவாயூர் க்ருஷ்ணனின் கோவிலுக்கு அருகே உள்ள அம்மன் ஆலயத்தின் ஒரு குறிப்பிட இடத்தில் நின்று சிவன் இருக்கும் திசையை  நோக்கி வணங்குகின்றனர்.

Even today all worship in Guruvayur starts with the worship of Shiva in Mammiyur. Even devotees pilgrimage to Guruvayur gets complete only after going to Mammiyur and worshiping Shiva. In case if people are not able to go to Mammiyur, they go near the devi shrine near Guruvayur temple, and worship Shiva internally by facing the direction of Mammiyur and complete their pilgrimage.
