குருவாயூர் க்ருஷ்ண விக்ரஹம் : (பகுதி 1)

ஸ்ரீ நாரதமஹாபுராணத்தில் இதைப்பற்றிய சம்பவம் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.  மற்ற கோவில்களில்  இருப்பது போல இந்த விக்ரஹம்கருங்கல்லிலோ மண்ணிலோ மரத்திலோ அல்லது வேறு  தாதுக்களினாலோ செய்யப்பட்டது அல்ல. பாதாள அஞ்சனத்தினால் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது. இது  பகவான் விஷ்ணுவினால் செய்யப்பட்டு ப்ரம்மாவிற்கு கொடுத்தது.ப்ரம்மா ஸுதபஸ் எனும் ப்ரஜாபதிக்கு கொடுத்தார். அவர் தனது மனைவி ப்ருஸ்னியுடன் இந்த மூர்த்தியை பத்தாயிரம் வருடம் பூஜித்தார். அதன் பலனாகபகவான் விஷ்ணுவின்  தரிசனமும் வரமும் கிடைத்தது.  மூன்று முறை  அவர்களுடைய மகனாக அவதரிப்பேன் என கூறிமறைந்தார். ப்ருஸ்னிகர்ப்பன்  எனும் பெயரில் மகனாக பிறந்தார்.

Shri Naradha MahaPuranam details about the Idol of Guruvayoor Krishnan. As in all other temples, the vigraham here is not made out of pancha loka metals or stone or wood. It is made up with  Patala Anjanam (Black Bismuth). This idol was made by Lord Vishnu and was given to Lord Brahma (in Padma Kalpa). (In Varaha Kalpa) King Sutapas was earnestly praying to Lord Vishnu for blessing him with a progeny. Brahma in turn gave this idol to king Sutapass. Sutapas Prajapathi and his wife Prasni did puja and worshiped this idol for 10,000 years. Lord Vishnu appeared before them and gave darshan and offered them a boon, The Lord told that the Lord himself will be born as the son of this couple in 3 different times. 1. In Satya yuga , Prasnigarbha was born as the son of Sutapas & Prasni.

இரண்டாவது பிறப்பில் அவ்விருவரும் கஸ்யபராகவும் அதிதியாகவும் தோன்றி அதே விக்ரஹத்தை ஆராதித்தனர்.அவர்களிடம்  வாமனரூபனாக பகவான் அவதரித்தார்.  மூன்றாம் முறை  அவர்கள் இருவரும் தேவகி வசுதேவராக தோன்றியபோது  தௌம்ய மகரிஷியிடமிருந்து  இவ்விக்ரஹத்தை பெற்று ஆராதித்தனர். பகவான் க்ருஷ்ணனாக அவர்களிடம் அவதரித்தார். அதன்பின்  த்வாரகையில்  ப்ரதிஷ்டை செய்தனர்.

2. In the next birth, they were born again as Kashyapa and Aditi and did puja for the same idol. The Lord was born as Vamana avatar. 3. In the 3rd brith they were born as Devaki – Vasudeva. They got the idol from Dhaumya Rishi. They did puja to this idol and Lord Krishna was born to them. After his birth, they installed the Idol in Dwaraka and did puja.

க்ருஷ்ணரின் அவதாரநோக்கம் முடிந்து ஸ்வர்க்காரோஹனத்திற்கு தயாரான போது  உத்தவரை அழைத்து கூறினார் :  “த்வாரகை  சில  நாட்களில்  கடலில்  மூழ்கி விடும்.  ஆகவே  இந்த  விக்ரஹத்தை இங்கிருந்து  எடுத்துவிடு. ப்ருஹஸ்பதியுடன்கலந்து ஆலோசனை செய்து ஒரு  புனிதமானத இடத்தில் ப்ரதிஷ்டை செய்வாயாக " என்றார். அதன்படி உத்தவர் தேவகுரு ப்ருஹஸ்பதி மற்றும் அவரது சீடரான வாயுவையும் அழைத்து வந்த போது  த்வாரகைப்ரளய  ஜலத்தில்  மூழ்கி விட்டது.  அவ்விக்ரஹம் மட்டுமே நீரில் மிதப்பதை மூவரும் கண்டனர்.

Towards the end of the Krishna Avatar, before Krishna was about to ascend up, he calls up Uddhava and says this – “ Dwaraka will get into the sea in the next few days time. Hence remove this Idol from this place. Discuss with Brihaspathi and install the same in a sacred place.” Based on this advice, Uddhava approaches Guru (Brihaspati) and his disciple Vaayu and brings them to Dwaraka. By the time  they reach Dwaraka,  the city has gone into the sea, but the 3 could see that this idol alone was floating in the waters.

தேவகுருவை கண்டதும் வருணதேவன் கடல் நீரை விலக்க மூவரும் விக்ரஹத்தை எடுத்து கொண்டு தகுந்த இடத்தை தேடினர். மேலும் பரசுராமரும்  இவ்விக்ரஹத்தை தேடிக்   கொண்டிருந்தார். வாதநோயால்  பீடிக்கப்பட்ட மக்கள் அவரைசரணடைந்ததனர். அப்போது  அங்கு வந்த நாரதர்  பரசுராமரிடம் த்வாரகையில்  உள்ள  க்ருஷ்ணவிக்ரஹத்தை  ஆராதித்தால் வாதநோய் நீங்கும்  என கூறியதால் பரசுராமரும் தேடிக் கொண்டு வந்த போது  வழியில் ப்ருஹஸ்பதியை கண்ட பின்அனைவரும்  ருத்ரதீர்த்த கரையை அடைந்தனர்
அங்கே பரமசிவனும் பார்வதியும் அவர்களை வரவேற்று   இந்த இடமே இந்த  விக்ரஹத்தை  ஸ்தாபிக்க ஏற்ற இடமாகும்.நாங்கள் இனி இந்த ருத்ரதீர்த்ததின்  மறுகரையில்  வசிப்போம்  என்றனர்.

On seeing the Deva-Guru (Brihaspati), Lord Varuna cleared off the sea and allowed them the way to go and pick the vigraha. Uddhava handing over the idol to Guru and Vaayu goes to Badaryashramam . Guru and Vaayu moved down south, in search of a suitable sacred place. Lord Parasurama had created Kerala by then. The people who were affected by Rheumatoid Arthritis approached Parasurama for solution. Naradha appears before Parasurama and says that if they get the Vishnu Vigraha (the one from Dwaraka and worship the same, they will be cured off the disease. Owing to this fact  Parasurama was also moving Northwards in search of this Idol. Incidentally the 3 (Brihaspathi, Vaayu,Parasurama) meet at a beautiful lake near the sea side. This was the Rudra Theertham, where Lord Shiva did tapas. Shiva-Parvathy appeared before the 3 and told that, the Rudra theertham spot is the sacred place for installing the Idol and added that He will stay on the other side of the lake.
