பின் சிவபெருமானும் அம்மூர்த்தியை ஆராதனைசெய்து விட்டு ப்ருஹஸ்பதியிடமும் வாயுபகவானிடமும் இம்மூர்த்தியைஅவ்விடத்திலேயே ப்ரதிஷ்டை செய்யுமாறும் இனி இந்த இடம் குருவாயூர்புரம் என்று அழைக்கப்படும் என்றார். சிவனாரின் ஆணைப்படி தேவகுருவும் வாயுவும் அந்த விக்ரஹத்தை அங்கு நிறுவி தேவசிற்பியான விஸ்வகர்மாவைக்கொண்டு ஓர்ஆலயத்தையும் நிர்மாணித்தனர். ஆலயநிர்மாணம் நடந்த நாள் விஷுவ தினமாகவும் ஆதித்யனின் கிரணங்கள் விக்ரஹத்தின்திருவடிகளில் நேரடியாக பட்டது. ( விஷுவ தினம் = பகலும் இரவும் சமமாக இருக்கும் சமயமாகும்.) ஆலயப்பணி கும்பமாதத்தில் புஷ்ய(பூசம்) நட்சத்திரத்தில் தெடங்கிஅனுராதா( அனுஷம்) நட்சத்திரத்தில் முடிவை அடைந்தது. இன்றும் இந்தநாளில் பத்து நாட்கள் உத்ஸவம் நடைபெறும், நடைபெறுகிறது.
Lord Shiva did worship for the idol and asks Guru (brihaspati) and Vaayu to install the idol in that place itself. Shiva further said – “Since the 2 installed the idol, this place will be henceforth be referred as Guruvayurpuram”. Based on Shiva’s Instruction, the 2 approaches Viswakarma to construct a temple. Temple Installation was done on a Vishu day. Hence Sun’s rays directly was incident on the idol. (Vishu is a day when the day and night time are of equal duration). The temple construction started in the month of Kumbha month on the Pushya star and was completed on Anusha /Anuradha star. Even today these 10 days are observed as a major 10 day festival.

நாரதபுராணத்தின் படி குருவாயூர் மற்றும் கோவில் பற்றிய அனைத்தும் தத்தாத்ரேயமுனிவர் பரீட்சித் மஹாராஜாவின் புதல்வரான ஜனமேஜயருக்கு கூறியள்ளதாக காணப்படுகிறது. ஜனமேஜயர் ஸர்ப்ப யாகம்செய்து ஏற்பட்ட தோல் நோயை போக்குவதற்காக முனிவரின் கட்டளைப்படி குருவாயூரில் 4 மாதங்கள் பகவான் க்ருஷ்ணனின்பஜனத்தில் (சேவையில் ) ஈடுபட்டு வியாதி நீங்கப்பெற்றார். அச்சமயத்தில் தத்தாத்ரேய முனிவரும் உடன் இருந்ததாககூறப்படுகிறது.
Naradha Purana says that Sage Datatreya has given all the details about Guruvayur temple to Janamejaya (son of King Pareekshith). Janamejaya while doing a Sarpa Yajna was affected by skin disease. As per instruction of Datatreya Rishi, he came to Guruvayur and worshiped the Lord here for 4 months and got his disease cured.

This dark complexioned beautiful boy, who plays beautiful tunes through his flute, is the lord who is referred and inferred as the Ultimate reality / Parabrahmam by the Vedas. May the Lord be always before me and lead me.
